$1000 Mortuary Science Scholarship

Mortuary Science Scholarship Award Application

The Connecticut Funeral Directors Association is committed to excellence in funeral service education. This Scholarship Award program has been established to support that commitment by providing $1,000 in scholarship funds to be awarded to qualified students whose plans are to complete their education in an accredited mortuary science school and serve the public in their chosen profession in the state of Connecticut.
All scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Scholarship Award Committee of the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association. Awards will be based on application information, academic record and the evaluation of the required essays. The decision of the Scholarship Award Committee will be final. The committee reserves the right not to make the award if there are no applicants or if the applicants do not meet the standards of the committee.
Notification of the award will be mailed to the student and will be awarded at our annual convention in December. The award is to be used exclusively for the payment of tuition of mortuary science required classes to qualify for the associate degree.

Acceptable proof of legal Connecticut residency is voter registration, driver’s license, or documented declaration of legal domicile.
Applications must be submitted by November 1st of each year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The applicant must be a legal resident of the state of Connecticut.
