Purpose: One-time award towards tuition for foreign culinary education. Applicant must have applied for an extensive culinary course. Approval of the course is at the discretion of the
James Beard Foundation scholarship committee. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the culinary arts, an exceptional academic or work record, and financial need. Purpose: This scholarship in the amount of $5000 is based on financial need and merit. It is awarded annually and paid directly to the institution. Preference is given to students majoring

in the arts, particularly American-Indian arts. Focus: Arts Qualif.: Applicant must be: full-time student. High school students not considered. Award available to U.S. citizens. Award available to the following races: Native American/Eskimo.
